2025 ASHRAE Winter Conference

Six mechanical engineering students and ASHRAE Club officers – Gabriella Aclan, Aryaman Bhargava, Ashley Corona, Katherine Hennig, Julia McMorrow, and Max Scott – recently traveled with club advisor Lauren Rueda to the ASHRAE Winter Conference in Orlando, Florida. At the conference, the officers had the opportunity to attend sessions geared towards students preparing to enter the industry as well as advanced technical sessions discussing the latest advancements in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) technology.

Some highlights of the conference included:

• Attending technical sessions focused on decarbonization and sustainability.

• ASHRAE resume and career workshop – chapter president Max Scott was selected to participate on stage in a mock interview.

• Networking with industry professionals at the Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Reception and the Women in ASHRAE Breakfast.

• Viewing the latest technology at the AHR Expo, including the hands-on opportunity to try laser welding.

• Meeting Cal Poly alumni who now represent many different regions and companies within the industry.
